After a year in hiatus, I am back.
There were many reasons why I left blogging. The first reason being that I simply lost my writing mojo. The second was I just had no time. The third being not finding a new blog template that I really liked to inspire me to write. And the last reason being that my old ISP wouldn't let me view my blog simply because my blog address has an underscore and therefore, it is deemed an invalid address.
I came back because I was inspired by my sister's very personalized blog. The blog design was appealing and reflected her personality plus, it had widgets that made the blog seem more fun. It took me just two days to find a template design that I like. Secondly, I needed an outlet to write the petty and shallow things that happen everyday yet make me laugh. I was reading my archives one time and laughed at incidents that happened years back that I wouldn't remember had I not blogged about it.
Many have happened in the year that I have been gone. Off the top of my head, these are the major ones:
1) A and I finally paid off the 35% downpayment for our condo. We're just waiting for our loan application to be approved. No rush though because while waiting, we get to save up more for our monthly amortization.
2) My family has finally moved into our own house. It took a couple of years to build but it was worth the wait. Everybody in the family loves the new home. It's actually huge (but we are a family of 9 plus 4 helpers, 1 houseboy, 1 driver and 4 dogs) that even after living here for 4 months, it still astounds me that we live in such a house. Well, it is the house my parents will be living in for the rest of their lives so it's only right that they make the most of it. A few days after we moved into the house, I told my parents that for the first time, living in the house made me feel that we truly are a family. I'll be posting pictures soon.
3) Just two weeks ago, my company transferred offices. We have moved to the province-- Taytay, Rizal, where it's far but everything is cheaper! Bigger space too!
4) My boyfriend A made the regional tv commercial for Coke Zero. He's leaving in a few days for Malaysia for two weeks to shoot the second commercial.
5) I found out that for the year 2007, A is number 32 among the top creatives in the country and number 700 ++ in the world. (I'm blogging this for prosterity's sake).
6) I have become close with the girlfriends of A's kabarkadas. So much so that the girlfriends see each other more than our boyfriends see each other. One guy calls our girls night out as "Cabinet Meetings." When there's gossip he wants to find out, he asks me, "the chairwoman" (his words, not mine) to call a meeting. Of course, I tell him it's not my story to tell and the person involved should be the one to call the meeting. Hahahaha! Very chairwoman-ish!
7) Oooh, I got addicted to the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer and got other peole addicted to it too: Cristy, Kat, Chi and Glady. I call them "my newborns." Hahaha!
8) Oh, how can I forget! I got my new laptop. Crossed off another item on my wishlist. This laptop rocks my socks!
9) A buys me a digital camera for Christmas! Woot woot! It was funny how he kept playing it down saying that he couldn't get me what I wanted, etc etc. But I knew deep inside that he was pretending. When I got the elaborately wrapped box, it was a bit heavy and when I lifted the top, I found TOWELS inside the box! But the box was too heavy for just towels, so I lifted the towels and found the camera's box! I kept laughing after that. Of course, the towels were a decoy. He bought them for himself actually. I retaliated by giving him a new phone for his birthday. His 3 year old phone's life was hanging by a thread.
10) A gets a raise just in time for us to start paying our monthly amortization. Again, I am amazed at how God works. When you're in need, He provides. And again, this just proves how this future home is meant for us.
11) This just happened last week: In a span of one week, I got a traffic violation twice which means I had my license confiscated twice (once in Makati and the other in Pasig). About 3 hours after I got my license the second time around, I got caught again for something I didn't do. My uncle's driver was driving my car (because the car he and 2 other officemates took broke down and I offered to give them a ride) and I told him to let me know where he would like to be dropped off so he can commute going to my uncle and then I'll just move to the driver's seat when he gets down. The driver decides to get down and parks the car on a, apparently, no loading/ unloading zone. When I transferred to the driver's seat and started driving away, the traffic enforcer stopped me. I couldn't believe it! It was my 3rd time to get flagged down in 7 days and this time, it was something that wasn't my fault! I ended up calling our VP who happens to work in the NBI as well, and he talked to the traffic enforcer and of course, the mere mention of "NBI" scared the enforcer and told me to go. But before leaving, I argued with him as to why he would give me a ticket for something I didn't even do. Even he knew I wasn't at fault because he admitted that he saw me transfer to the driver's seat when the driver left. But basically, his reason for flagging me down was because a) I was the one who brought the car and b) the person at fault was already gone (and he couldn't catch him anymore). Of course that pissed me off and so I asked him why give me a ticket for an offense I did not commit? So what if I own the car? I wasn't the one driving. I wasn't the one who made that decision to stop in that particular spot! He even said, "Binigyan ba kita ng ticket?! (Did I give you a ticket?!)" and I replied, "No! But you were going to!" and then I launched my tirade again. In the end, he said, "Sige na, sige na!" like he was annoyed and that our conversation wasn't going anywhere. I was just so exasperated that I was flagged down three times in one week! From then on, I told myself I'm gonna stop being kind and offering rides to my officemates if they were going my way because I end up getting caught for something. Both instances were for unloading passengers at a non- loading/ unloading zone. Of course it didn't help the signs were tiny and it was dark. Even my stepmom adviced me to stop offering rides because it ends up being more dangerous.
12) I finally fixed my sleeping habits. Sleep by 2 or 3am and wake up by 10:30am (though I'm trying to make it earlier).
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more that happened but I can't recall all of them as it is 5:30am already (What did I just say about my sleeping habits?! I'm rationalizing that it's the long weekend anyway so I can stay up late!)
I don't know how to end this post so I'm just gonna say...
Welcome me back, blogging world! It sure is good to be back!
